MONDAY MORNING SCRAMBLE

March 8, 2010

1st Place: Gary Riggs, Richard Copeland, Bobby Newby and Charles Henson with a (-9)

2nd Place: Morris Duke, Jasper Adkins, Edd Cantrell and Arron Durham with a (-8)by scorecard playoff

We had 4 4-men teams come out this morning...the other teams consisted of Bill Carter, David Dunlap, Charles Talley and Ashley Freeze (they had the other (-8); and Monroe Oakes, David Boatman, Charles Boatman and Arlin Schapp. The father/son duo of David and Charles were tickled to death to be on the same team. It hasn't happened in over a year!

FRIDAY SCRAMBLE

This morning with the sun ashining...the regulars started coming in...reading the paper, drinking coffee...those that smoke stepping outside for a few minutes...and before I knew it, we had a club house full!

Everyone started pulling out $5.00...so guess what! We had ourselves a SCRAMBLE!

Five 3-men teams....and there was a blow out! Gary Riggs, Jeff Dotson and Ashley Freeze came in with a (-9)!and got first place

2nd Place went to Bobby Newby, Charles Talley and Cip with a (-3).

I can't believe it, we have blue skies and sunshine!

Already have some golfers up here, it is amazing how beautiful weather just makes everyone feel better!

MONDAY, MARCH 1ST SCRAMBLE RESULTS

Eight(8) golfers showed up this morning for the scramble. I stayed in the office while they decided what they wanted to do. They decided to have four two(2) men teams and to only pay one place...so here are the reults.

1st PLACE: Monroe Oakes and Charles Boatman shot a (-2)

The other teams consisted of: Bobby Newby and Morris Duke; Gary Riggs and Charles Henson; John Holt and Arlin Schaap

IT'S SNOWING!!!

This morning it was pretty with blue skies...still cold...but not terrible....now it is overcast and the temperature has dropped & it is spitting snow!

I am repeating to myself....can't last forever, can't last forever...

LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY 2010!!!

Alright everyone, hold your breath, this is the last week of February...and Monday is the first day of March...will it come in like a lion and out like a lamb?

LAST WEEKEND

Well, if you missed playing golf last weekend...you missed some nice weather!

Looks to be cold again this week...but mostly in the 40's...and that's warm compared to a couple of weeks ago...when we were lucky to reach the 20's!

But don't get discouraged....warmer days are coming...I promise!
